retreat
I’ve been taking a bit of a personal retreat this week. There are moments that seem to be fueled with inspiration and others with lethargy. However, I feel like this has been important for me. In my responsibilities as the worship pastor at Christ Community, I’ve been reminded by those around me that there is a cadence or rhythm of engagement AND withdrawal. And though most people see withdrawal as “vacation time”, I believe there is great value in retreating to advance in my work. The margin that I was able to create this week has allowed me to begin addressing thoughts and actions for weeks and months to come because I took just a little time to focus on thinking about things around me and ahead of me. Believe me, there were still things to accomplish this week and I still have to lead on Sunday, but I am thankful for this time and the regeneration it has brought.
Kim Walker is an intriguing cross between artist and worship leader. This video really grabbed me and I have been recently caught up in the idea of how He loves us. I love the lyric “Heaven meets earth like a sloppy, wet kiss.”

[twelve one and two] now available at iTunes
My own personal digital revolution has finally begun. [twelve one and two] (in EP form) is now available at iTunes. It contains two live, unreleased versions of “Fan The Flame” and “You Know My Heart”. And feel free to leave a review…as long as it’s good.

[twelveoneandtwo] bonus EP now available at amazon.com
Recently,
I released a version of my last CD, [twelveoneandtwo], to the digital domain. Although I am still waiting for it to get posted to iTunes, mp3 downloads just recently became available through amazon.com for $0.89/each. I’ve re-released it as [twelveoneandtwo] bonus EP as it contains two bonus live tracks as well as my original songs and hymn arrangements from the original release. You can access the site by clicking on the CD cover to the right.
This is kind of exciting as I’ve been slow to join the digital revolution. It’s mostly cool because it’s a great distribution method and I love the fact that people can get the music NOW through a source like this.
Purchase the whole EP for $6.99 or $0.89/track. Purchase online and purchase often!!

Hey, just thought I’d let you know that you can download (for free) some of the new tunes I’ve been working on at reverbnation. Just sign up to be a “fan” and they are there for you to download (If you are already a fan, you can download them already).
And let me know if there are some other tracks you were hoping would become free downloads. Here’s the URL: http://www.reverbnation.com/randybonifield.
You can also become a fan and listen to tunes via my facebook page.

A Big Fish
I was going back through some old audio files today…it’s interesting the different things you come up with throughout your life. At one time I started writing a bunch of Children’s Bible songs, but realized i didn’t want to go to my grave as the next Raffi or Miss Pattycake.
Here is one of my favorites. It’s called “Big Fish” and it uses a really simple chorus and some cute verses to tell the story of Jonah. Press play and enjoy it at my expense…
